My Digital Tattoo
My Digital Tattoo
Now days, I'm rarely on social media. The greatest time I spend on any social media is on Pinterest. I'm always looking for new recipes, anchor charts and Do It Yourself help. As I search google, the first thing pop up was my Pinterest account. I have a few followers on Pinterest.
I'm sure if I looked up on of my friends on Google, I would receive plenty of information. My friends let you know where they spend every moment of their day. If you are looking for them, you surely can find them. They have their location notification on and it gives the exact location.
I remember about 8 years ago, I was teaching at Dyett High School. I happened to be in the Dean of Students Office when a Community Policing Officer came in with his Blackberry phone in his hand. It was opened to a student's Facebook page. They were there to arrest him because he admitted on Facebook that he committed a violent crime. At that time, I was unaware of how much access the Police Department and other government agencies had to your social media accounts and other information (cell phone and texting etc.). It was then that I became more conscious of what I wrote and the choice of friends I had on Facebook. Before that time, I may have told someone to "go to a place below the Earth". Now, I am more politically correct and sensitive.
I've had to continuously be reminded that employers (current and future) are able to see our post on social media and they also see what kind of sites we subscribe to. So, in this time and era "Big Brother is Watching". They don't have to work hard to get our fingerprints, retina or iris recognition or face recognition because of our love for updated technology. I'm included in the group. I currently have a Samsung Galaxy 8 Edge and an Iphone 8 Plus. I always need the latest technology. Our televisions, Nielson used to send out surveys to what programming the public most wanted to watch. Now, they can get that information from our cable boxes. They don't have to send you any money now. They used to pay you to complete the survey.
It's scary how we are being watched and we don't know it. I check several of the recommended sites for my connection to social media and my background. Intelius was the most accurate, although they added someone to my family that I never heard of. They were very close. They didn't have a great deal of information. I have lived a pretty quiet life. Instant Checkmate was pretty accurate also. Although, I never live in Louisiana and my middle initial is L not G. I guess if I paid for the search they would have provided more accurate information. Be careful what sites you visit and what you post because you never know who's watching you.

I created the meme because I believe that what you post or say online stays online! It can define who and what you are! Oprah has said and done some powerful things and I have seen very few posts from her. She does not get into undignified conversations in public. Oprah has become a Billionaire from thinking twice as much as speaking and listening even harder. Let's learn from her.

Let's not learn from her! This could be you!
